Experience the transformative power of Shibashi Qigong, a graceful moving meditation designed to enhance overall health and wellbeing. Shibashi Qigong 18 Form is a series of 18 graceful, flowing and mindful movements designed to holistically enhance health and wellbeing. Rooted in the philosophy of Tai Chi, it incorporates selected movements from the traditional Tai Chi Chuan form, which I began teaching in 1995, so I have plenty of experience to share. Qigong works with the body’s internal energy system, known as the meridian network, to help clear energetic blockages within the body and the surrounding energy field (aura). When these flowing movements are synchronised with natural posture and balanced breathing, they create a form of moving meditation. The internal energy cultivated through Qigong helps circulate blood and oxygen throughout the body, nourishing the organs and tissues and promoting healing. Additionally, the deep connection between mind and breath calms mental activity, alleviates emotional stress and anxiety, and fosters a sense of peace, balance, and mental clarity. Although there are many health benefits from each individual movement, to practice the complete Shibashi 18 form gives optimal holistic health benefits. The health benefits suggested below are based on the translation in Professor Lin’s book ‘Tai Chi Qigong. 1. Awakening the Qi - Improves conditions related to the heart, liver and high blood pressure. 2. Expanding the Chest on Top of the Mountain - Improves conditions related to the heart, lungs and nervous system. 3. Painting the Rainbow - Relieves back pain and decreases the fat around the waist. 4. Lift and Separate Clouds - Relieves shoulder pain and boosts stamina. 5. Reeling the Silk - Relieves shoulder, elbow and wrist pain and improves conditions related to the lungs. 6. Rowing a Boat in the Middle of the Lake - Helps the digestive system and increases mental clarity. 7. Immortal Sage Presents the Peach - Improves conditions related to the kidney and increases spiritual energy. 8.
